Some filter rules do not work properly on the Zeus web server
The Zeus version 3.4 web server does not allow a CGI error-handler to control response headers. Because of this, an error response cannot be re-written to be a "200 OK" response, or a "302 Moved" response.
The following filter rule actions will not function properly on the Zeus server:
-
http-redirect
This rule doesn't function because Zeus will not allow a "Location" header and will not allow the response to be re-written as a "302 Moved" response.
As of Guardian version 2.0.0.0008, all "http-redirect" rules will be re-written as "redirect" rules when saving "Filter Rules". A warning will be printed.
-
replace
These rules do not work because Zeus will not allow a custom "Content-Type" response header, and will not allow the response to be re-written as a "200 OK" response.
As of Guardian version 2.0.0.0008, all "replace" rules will be disabled when saving "Filter Rules". An error will be printed.
-
DoS
These rules do not work because Zeus will not allow a custom "Content-Length" response header
As of Guardian version 2.0.0.0008, all "DoS" rules will be disabled when saving "Filter Rules". An error will be printed.
These problems were verified in the Zeus web server version 3.4. The current version of Zeus if 4.1. That newer version has not been tested for compatibility.
