Get "Permission Denied" error when indexing remote page
When you try to add a document to your index using the web crawler, you may get the following message, or something similar:
"The crawler encountered an error: error connecting to www.foo.com on port 80 - connect() failed with system error "Permission denied." Typically connect errors involve unreachable or non-functional servers, incorrect port numbers, local DNS problems, or a corrupt TCP environment"
Some web hosting providers do not allow their users to use sockets in CGI programs. If you encounter this problem, your hosting provider policy is probably to blame, since real TCP/IP problems usually return "Unknown error" rather than "Permission denied".
If you experience this problem, contact your web hosting provider and request sockets permission. You can also acquire webspace provider which offers sockets privileges.
