Tracking visits to frameset pages

The AXS Javascript tracking tag is based on the HTML <img> tag, which is not parsed on framesets. To track visits to frameset pages, the Javascript tracking tag must be modified by replacing all occurrences of:

img src=

with:

link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href=

The modified tracking tag must be placed at the very top of the frameset document. After placing the tracking tag there, you should fully test your site with multiple browsers to confirm that frames functionality and stylesheets continue to work as expected.

As a larger example, consider the standard Javascript tracking code:

<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
	document.write('<img src="/perl/ax.pl?trans.gif&ref=');
	document.write(document.referrer);
	document.write('" height="1" width="1" alt="" />');
// -->
</script><noscript>
	<img src="/perl/ax.pl?trans.gif" height="1" width="1" alt="" />
</noscript>

This code would be modified to read:

<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
	document.write('<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/perl/ax.pl?trans.gif&ref=');
	document.write(document.referrer);
	document.write('" height="1" width="1" alt="" />');
// -->
</script><noscript>
	<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/perl/ax.pl?trans.gif" height="1" width="1" alt="" />
</noscript>
