Customizing HTML: Removing the publicly-viewable copyright
To remove the publicly-viewable copyright notice, go to "Admin Page" => "User Interface" => "Advanced: Edit Templates". Select the "Main Footer" template for editing. It contains:
<center> <hr size="1" width="50%" /> %copyright% </center> </body> </html>
Replace this text with:
<center> <hr size="1" width="50%" /> </center> </body> </html>
and click the "Save Data" button. Now the string "Powered by the Fluid Dynamics Search Engine v2.0.0.00xx © 200x" will no longer appear in the output. Note: as stated in the FDSE license, only users who purchase or are granted a registration key may remove the copyright notice and link. All other users are required to retain the notice as a little FDSE advertisement.
If you wish to replace the FDSE copyright with your own, please do not misrepresent this software product as your own. After paying your registration fee, you are welcome to add "© 2002 Foo Design" to the footer if all of your other web pages contain a similar statement, since this is understood as applying to your entire site as an entity, and not to individual software products used on the site. Please do not write "© 2002 powered by the Foo Design Search Engine", because that would misrepresent the product.
